Craig Winder, CEO

Craig Winder was born in Hinesville, Georgia. From the onset, his uncanny leadership abilities, competitive edge, and rare talent were noticeable to all that came in contact with him.

Craig’s celebrated basketball career began at Mardela Springs High School in Maryland where he was selected as the Team MVP his freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons. Craig finished his high school career as the all-time leading scorer in county history. He transferred to Wicomico High School in Salisbury, Maryland for his senior season. He led Wicomico to a 28-0 record and won a state title. Craig was selected to 1st Team All-State, 1st team all-Mason-Dixon, and 1st Team All-Conference his senior of high school.

Prior to attending The University of Texas, Craig was a 2-year starter at Cecil Community College where he was the team’s leading scorer both seasons. He finished his career at Cecil ranking 3rd on the all-time scoring list. Mr. Winder led Cecil to a 31-3 record and the #1 national ranking for 8 consecutive weeks during his sophomore season. He was the 1st player in school history to be selected as a 1st Team All-American. Craig played for two years at the University of Texas and was a member of two NCAA Tournament teams. In 2006, he helped the Longhorns advance to the Elite Eight, and in 2007 they made it to the second round of the NCAA tournament. More importantly, Mr. Winder was named to the Academic All-Big 12 Second Team as a senior.

Craig then went on to star in the NBDL, and was invited to some NBA mini-camps. He eventually took his talents overseas and played professionally in Australia, Mexico, China, Africa, India, and Europe. Throughout his travels, Mr. Winder built great relationships with some of the best athletes in the world. He now utilizes those resources to help elevate Gifted Athletes LLC to new heights.

Craig currently lives in Salisbury, Maryland.
